Just a few words to express my thanks to Annuity-Advisor for their assistance in securing an annuity for me.
I was advised by my pension fund holder in mid-March of a protected rights pension fund belonging to my late husband from which I was entitled to receive an annuity. I was also informed that if I did not complete the annuity purchase by 6th April 2006 it would be liable to taxation under the new tax rules.
I was aware that it pays to shop around for an annuity when the the time comes and I consulted the internet to see if I could improve on the rate on offer from the pension fund holder. During my search I came across the web site for Annuity-Advisor. They were providing just the service I needed in that they not only carried out the search for me but also handled the administration required to transfer the funds and set up the annuity.
The staff were pleasant to talk to, professional and helpful. In less than a week everything was in place and I had secured an annuity which represented a 25% increase on the original offer.
Once again many thanks for your help, I will certainly be in touch again when it comes to purchasing an annuity from my own pension funds.

I would like to progress along the lines of a small personal pension for the next 10 years or so. Can you list the pros and cons (pensions havent been the flavour of the month of late) and also whether I can put in a lump sum to start and what is the maximum amount.

I am happy to provide a testimonial as follows:
I was not given good advice by my ex-employer, as they told me my residual fund had to be used to purchase an increasing annuity.
By talking to Steve Hunt at AnnuityAdvisor.co.uk, he made me aware that it should be possible for me to take the residual fund from pre-97 funds.
This allowed me to take either a level annuity, or a with profit annuity.
Both of these options were more favourable to my circumstances.

Dear Steve,
Like many people I was a little concerned about using an internet service for my annuity. I visited a number of sites and asked for illustrations by completing the online requests. Your initial reply came within a few hours and was very informative, giving general information and specific examples of standard and with profits annuities with various widow's benefits - each at rates comparable with those I had already been given by another major adviser. I e-mailed or phoned with a query or illustration request on several occasions, receiving prompt and helpful attention each time, with the information arriving quickly. I finally selected my annuity and was provided with all relevant documentation and application form by e-mail. I posted it all back and my payments have started.
In contrast, I made online requests to two other brokers. In both cases they said an adviser would contact me to discuss my needs. They both made first contact after I had completed the application forms and sent them back. It could be said they were behind the pace!
If this was typical of the service you provide then I will have no hesitation in using you again for my next retirement tranche, and can recommend the service to anyone else.

I have received a letter from Helen Kewney following completion of the setting up of my annuity with Legal & General. I am a lady in my fifties who decided to cash in my two small pensions as they were both in companies currently in financial difficulties. Anna was retiring with a pension fund of £ 31,797 She was offered a pension from her provider of £ 1,399 per year. She came to us and we helped Anna exercised her Open Market Option. We secured an enhanced pension with the Prudential for £ 1,906 per year. An increase of 36% or over £500 per year, enough for a pretty good holiday. Anna says about the service she has received:
